Texas sheet cake is a thin chocolate cake baked in 18/13 inch pan cake. A sheet cake is any cake that is made in a large rectangular pan known as sheet pan cake. It is the easiest chocolate cake to make and perfect for parties.
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C and 350 degrees F
Lightly grease 18/13 inch sheet cake pan with butter or oil .Line base with parchment paper.
Shift together flour coco powder baking soda and salt into a large bowl .
In a medium large saucepan add butter coco powder or water, bring mixture to a boil for 30 second than remove pan from heat let it cool , pour warm chocolate mixture over flour mixture fold it gently. And stir lightly to cool.
In a large measuring cup whisk together the butter milk, beaten egg and vanilla extract , stir butter milk mixture into chocolate mixture, don’t over mix.
Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
For the icing. In a large saucepan melt butter add coco powder, bring mixture to boil, once mixture boiling remove it from heat and stir it powdered sugar and stir together until mixture become smooth. Now add chopped walnuts/pecans.
Now pour the warm frosting over the warm cake .allow frosting to set for about 30 minutes before serving. Than cut into squares and enjoy.
If you want to store remaining cake than wrap the cake in a plastic wrap or foil and keep the cake into the refrigerator .
You can also bake Texas sheet cake in a 9/13 pan, but increase the baking time to about 30 to 35 minutes.
